Wallace Favored to Win Michigan Maryland Votes
United Press International reports Sen George S McGovern campaigned in Michigan to bolster his primary bid while Hubert H Humphrey and George C Wallace prepared for Maryland voting. Wallace and Humphrey expected to triumph in Maryland with 53 convention votes at stake though McGovern faced an outside chance. In Michigan a three way contest among Wallace Humphrey and McGovern was forecast to fill 132 delegate votes amid school busing debate. Delegates in Wyoming indicated Humphrey led in Democratic choices while Nixon allies held GOP strength. McGovern accused Nixon of politicizing busing and urged gains among Detroit Negro wards as campaigns moved toward Oregon and California.
