Okaloosans Rally Behind Nixon Vietnam Decision
More than 4 000 patriotic Okaloosans planned a Friday morning parade to pledge support of President Nixon's Vietnam war end by blockade. By Thursday night over 5 000 signatures were collected on a petition to be hand carried to the President. The move arose from WFTW host Jon Anthony's program after a caller asked how locals could show support.

Sunshine Silver Mine death toll climbs to 84

Building Code Committee Formed to Review Countywide Code
A five member panel was named by county commissioners to assess adopting the Southern Standard Building code for part of Okaloosa County.
