Kilauea Volcano Erupts Sparking Fires Near Crater

Kilauea on the island of Hawaii erupted with lava at least 100 feet high, triggering small forest fires and road closures near the crater. Hundreds of minor quakes were recorded at the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park Observatory, felt as far as Hilo. Park officials sealed the area for safety.
