Tallahassee Florida AP reports House Appropriations Committee Chairman Marshall Harris says the $125 million gap between House and Senate spending bills hinges on two big ifs. He cautions these conditions are decisive yet uncertain.
Island Leaseholders Association will meet at 7:45 pm at the Okaloosa Island Authority Building with a 7 pm Happy Hour. The Playground Boys Club board of directors plans a 5 pm meeting at the First National Bank Building in Fort Walton Beach. Senate Ways and Means Chair Louis de la Parc discusses adding 65 million in new revenue to the budget, and Harris outlines steps to use corporate tax revenue and reallocate funds to narrow the deficit ahead of conference committee. The Appropriations Committee is due to meet Wednesday at 9 am, continuing until a bill is ready, possibly by May 14 or later.

The county wide school lunch menu will not be provided for May and June. The Food Service Manager for each school will plan menus to use remaining commodities and purchased food by the end of the school year. The Fort Walton Beach Lions Club will meet today at noon at the Sheraton Miramar. Visiting Lions are invited as guests.
The Fort Walton Beach Extension Homemakers will meet Tuesday at the Fellowship Hall of the First Methodist Church. The social period starts at 9 15 a m and the meeting at 9 45 a m A babysitting service is available for a nominal fee.

Secretary of State William Rogers arrived in Amman after Saudi King Faisal urged U.S. support for Egypt to regain territory occupied by Israel. Louis Fee aged 49 was found dead in his home at Germany Drive after a Saturday night fire that heavily damaged the house. A firefighter was injured. Coroner ruled accidental death. Neighbors said a kerosene lamp was used for lighting and Fee had bought fuel that day. Funeral arrangements pending as relatives are sought.
REGALLE Ceylon AP A shadowy gunman calling himself a lieutenant colonel of the rebel forces was named one of Ceylon's most wanted as more insurgents surrendered. The government offered a four day amnesty expiring Tuesday afternoon, but turnout was modest amid talks of a broader assault in the Kegalle district. Police identified the man as Ariyadasa, a former schoolteacher, age 29 to 32, the most wanted figure behind recent rebel offensives.
About 125 Okaloosa Walton Junior College graduates received associate of arts and associate of science degrees at Niceville Senior High School Auditorium. The ceremony featured student planning, music by the OWJC Concert Band, and remarks by student speakers James C. Hollar II, Robert D. Hoffmann, and William J. McCracken. Honors went to William McCracken, Leslie Strickland, Janet Sutton, and Jackie Taylor for highest honors. other honors recipients included Hoppman, OToole, Rose, Blue, Power, Nall, Walters, Henderson, Luedke, Steinberg, and Ussery.
Private Neill Keith Wilkinson died at 11 p.m. Friday in the Eglin AFB Hospital after a Baker auto crash. Funeral services are at 3 p.m. today at New Bethany Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. L V Tilson officiating. Interment at New Bethany Cemetery. Whitehurst Funeral Home, Crestview, in charge. He is survived by his parents, six sisters and two brothers.
SAIGON AP The U S Navy says it expects to complete its Vietnamization by mid 1972 while advisers remain. Navy strength in South Vietnam is 13 200, down from 36 500 in 1969, with 760 combat craft and 75 support vessels turned over to the Vietnamese Navy. By mid 1972 another 125 vessels and 18 bases are due for transfer. The Vietnamese navy now defends 1 500 miles of inland waterways and 180 miles of coastline. Operationally the Vietnamese navy is improving as U S forces hand over unveilings. Resor toured northern rural areas and two American divisions involved in the Laos campaign.
In Seattle a federal grand jury questions 19 year old Leslie Bacon held as a material witness in the March 1 Capitol bombing. Her Seattle lawyers call the lines of questioning furtive and repetitive while prosecutors say the inquiries target the case and may include harassment.
