Congressman Bob Sikes told Okaloosa Walon t Junior College students that educational and occupational draft deferments may end and a lottery style draft could replace the present system. He favored a universal lottery with names drawn from barrels and said a volunteer military is not feasible. Jury Finds Two Guilty in County Court Term
In the March term of County Court two defendants were found guilty by a jury. Claude Biggs, 56, of Crestview area, exceeded a safe speed in a construction zone and damaged a State Road Commission truck on SR 85 north of Crestview, fined 34 dollars or 30 days in jail. Lloyd Kilpatrick, 42, of Crestview, was convicted of driving while intoxicated and fined 125 dollars or 90 days in jail. The April term starts April 24.
