Sidecaster Dredge Schweizer Set for Destin East Pass
A new sidecasting dredge, the Schweizer, will begin maintenance dredging in Destin East Pass Thursday to restore 12 foot depth. Based in New Orleans, the 123 by 30 foot vessel draws 9 feet, moves 8 mph, and will operate with two pumps to remove over 1,400 cubic yards per hour.

Hurlburt OQs To Get Central Air Conditioning
Army Engineers opened bids for air conditioning four two story officers quarters at Hurlburt Field and Eglin AFB in northwest Florida. The apparent low bid of 156 840 was from McDonald Plumbing Co of Fort Walton Beach. Second bid came from Metcalf and Shriver of Dothan with 165 700. Government estimate was 159 071. This is among seven bids opened this month for Eglin and Tyndall bases.
