Northern Maine Snow Dumps Seven Inches. Flood Watch Closes Plains
More than seven inches of snow covered northern Maine on Saturday while a flood watch was issued for western New York. The National Weather Service warned of a tranquil weekend for most of the nation with rain and snow spreading east from the Pacific Northwest. Hydrologists cautioned that melting snow could trigger minor Ohio River flooding next week at Evansville, Shawneetown, and Fords Ferry.
