Rep. Ralph Turlington urged Congress to end tax free sales of cigarettes and alcohol on bases, saying Florida loses 15 to 20 million dollars yearly in taxes. At MacDill Air Force Base Tampa 1.1 million packs of untaxed cigarettes per month were reported, far above the national smoker average. He backs a memorial to Congress and favors a four cent per pack tax increase if the Senate agrees, citing base exemptions burdening state and local tax structures.

CAP Locates Missing Plane In Tallahassee Flight Crash
The Civil Air Patrol located the wreckage of a small Cessna 150 and two bodies 100 feet southwest of Tallahassee Municipal Airport after a Pensacola to Tallahassee flight went missing Tuesday. Pilot Winford Creel of Pensacola was identified as one victim. the second man's identity was not released. CAP said no survivors were found. Also reported were funeral notices for Grady C Joyner of Fort Walton Beach born in Robbins Georgia, with services in Crestview and Macon, and memorials for Mrs Beulah Little of Crestview.

B E Charged To Local Man
A breaking and entering at the Rusty Nail Tavern on West U S 98 led to the arrest of Hortis Hicks, 44, Fort Walton Beach. Deputies Blackburn and Donaldson chased the fleeing suspect, joined by Gordon Rhyne, arresting Hicks in a trailer court parking lot. He remains in county jail.
