Collision demolishes two cars on Mayflower Blvd

Richardson Trial Slated To Get Underway Monday
Crestview Florida one of three men charged with the December 16 1970 Western Union office robbery in Fort Walton Beach will go on trial Monday morning. Gernie L Richardson 31 formerly of Mobile Alabama is charged with armed robbery along with Jessie Andrews 27 and John Wesley Hill 24 both of Mobile Richardson and Hill pleaded not guilty and Hill’s trial is set for September 2 Andrews pleaded guilty in mid February but escaped in mid March while held in county jail under presentence investigation He has not yet been apprehended Richardson is defended by Ron Shelley public defender from Pensacola The men were arrested within an hour after the daylight armed robbery of the Western Union office Approximately 8000 was taken and office employees were held at gunpoint while the safe was being emptied authorities said
