Washington AP reports Viet Nam war spending reached 5.8 billion for the year ended June 3, up 1.1 billion from January's estimate of 4.7 billion. Total outlays rose to 106.9 billion, a record, with defense up and other expenditures down 600 million versus January.
Hollywood report says Frank Sinatra and Mia Farrow continued their public appearances on the second day of their dispute with supporters describing the couple as in Palm Springs. A pilot remained in Los Angeles with Farrow as she stayed at the Sands Hotel complex, tying to further show the pair’s distance.
The forecast indicates partly cloudy skies through Friday with widely scattered thundershowers. High temperatures reach around the mid range today with mild conditions expected later in the week.

The city has grown from 12,147 residents in 1960 to about 18,600 today, driven by a booming tourist economy. Other entries include Fort Lauderdale, Naples, Pompano Beach, Hollywood, Gainesville, Boca Raton, Winter Park and Plantation. The study cites a concept of quality growth and expects these cities to maintain high growth, with the firm noting its Miami base and operations across the U.S. and abroad.
