French Tow Protests Ship From Zone Off Mururoa Atoll
A French warship towed the protest ship Fri from a nuclear test danger zone in the South Pacific. The frigate Otago reportedly ordered not to intervene, while New Zealand officials urged the Fri to pack up and go home. The Fri and its crew of 16 were captured about 22 miles off Mururoa Atoll, 720 miles southeast of Papeete.

Karate expert charged with murder in twin sisters’ hit and run
Tampa Florida authorities charged Raymond Alwyn McMahon a 31 year old karate expert with first degree murder in the intentional hit and run deaths of Rohanne Caton 13 and Habyn Caton age 12. A 1969 Camaro and extensive evidence including fingerprints hair and soil samples tied the suspect to the crime scene. The older sister’s body was found in a field after the car sped away while the younger died from injuries. The brother Curtis 12 was injured. Police indicated McMahon may be at large and could have left the state.
