CAPE KENNEDY Fla AP America plans a Saturn 1 orbital test Tuesday to orbit a Titan stage nose cone and instrument unit. The 92 foot rocket will weigh 54557 pounds with over 22000 pounds of fuel mainly liquid hydrogen. Ground stations will track the stage as it arcs 100 miles high and astronauts will ride earth orbit before the next burn toward the moon.

Tidal Wave Warning After Aleutian Quake Report
A strong quake in the Aleutian Islands registered about 7.1 on the Richter scale. A cautious tidal wave advisory was issued as a precaution by Hawaii Civil Defense. If a tsunami formed it could reach shores around 7:45 pm. The UC Berkeley seismograph logged 6.5 with epicenter near Dutch Harbor.

Navy Plane Crashes Near Battle Creek Killing At Least Five
A four engine Navy Electra turboprop crashed five miles northeast of Battle Creek Michigan. Police identify five Navy personnel among wreckage with scattered body parts suggesting more than five may have died. Navy Cmdr J R Reeves confirmed the type and location of the crash at Glenview NAS. Witness Nis Spalsbury described viewing the scene.
