Five civil engineers at Eglin Air Force Base completed a major renumbering of 3 582 buildings and facilities to streamline identification. Col Wilbur J Grumbles, Eglin Base Commander since October 1963, will assume new duties at Edwards AFB California. With his wife Alida Matheson and two sons John and Robert, the family departs Friday July 8. He supported CHAP School for handicapped children and played golf at the Eglin Gott Course.

In November 195 Colonel Grumbles earned a Masters in Political Science from George Washington University. A native of Eden Texas he formerly commanded the 4th Fighter Wing in USAFE and captained a World Champion USAF aerial gunnery team from Nellis AFB Nevada. He holds a BA from Baylor and was senior class president. He has over 14 years flying fighters and 900 hours in flight including 2600 hours in a jet. His awards include the Silver Star Legion of Merit with one cluster Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with six clusters.
