EGLIN AFB The second successful firing of the hybrid rocket powered Sandpiper target missile occurred Sunday from an F 4C Phantom II at 50 000 feet over the Eglin Gulf Test Range. Air launched it flew about five minutes reaching near twice the speed of sound confirming a perfect two for two record for the Sandpiper developed by AFATL.
