Eight Injured As Tanker Blazes After Crash Off Louisiana
An 18000 ton Gulf Oil tanker anchored to take on fuel burst into flames after a collision with a two barge towboat in darkness on the Mississippi River south of New Orleans. Eight crewmen were burned. two jumped into the river but were rescued. The vessel, not fueling and without cargo, was later controlled by firefighters. Injured crew members listed include Richard Bell, Felix Gonzales, James McDonald, William Ward, Howard Foster, Clyde Robinson, J P Glenn Jr, and Richard McCaster. Fire Aboard New York Freighter Kills Three Crew
