Eglin pilot ejects safely after A-7D crash
Maj. R B Burnside of the 3246th Test Wing ejected from an A 7D at Tallahassee Municipal Airport after an engine malfunction. The single seat jet crashed into an open area at the runway end. Burnside parachuted to safety and suffered no reported injuries or aircraft damage. He was returning to Eglin AFB from Cecil Field NAS near Jacksonville.

Jack Wesley Forbes, 66, died Monday morning in a Pensacola hospital. He lived at 108 N. Booker St in Crestview. Funeral services will be today at ? pm in the McLaughlin Chapel, Rev. Raymond Williams officiating. Burial follows at Live Oak Cemetery near the Shoal River. Survived by mother Mers Nina Gilsson of Crestview, six daughters including Mora Jane Alford of Crestview and Ann Zeim of Mora, Helen McNally of Walton Beach, Janice Brack of Qothan, Jackie Crocklaw of Ozark, Wilm an Peacock of Brundage, and one son William E. Forbes of Fr. Benning. Also three brothers Carlos Forbes of Grandridge and Benjamin Forbes of Rec Bay, three sisters Ester Wililby of Albis, Besgle King of Panama City, and Ruth Sentertitt of Stocklan Hawaii.
