Fort Walton Beach man Dave Merri Thompson, 29, of Harbeson Drive, was struck by a car about 4 15 am on Sunday and left beside the road. He was taken to Fort Walton Beach Hospital and later to Escambia General Hospital in fair condition. Two prior traffic deaths were reported nearby, including a 25 year old New York woman and an Army private.

A carload of gunmen sprayed the American Embassy in Grosvenor Square London with machine gun fire killing no one but shattering glass doors and windows. A note left on the sidewalk pledged solidarity with people battling Yankee fascism and called for freedom for American Negroes. Husband Refutes Fire Death Tragedy Story in Minnesota
IT CLOUD Minn UPD David Hoskins a church deacon and gospel singer who allegedly admitted shooting his wife and setting a fire killing four children is to be charged Monday. He was wounded and held under guard at St. Cloud Hospital. A statement signed by Hoskins refutes the earlier account blaming five or six men. Funeral arrangements were pending for Loretta Hoskins and five children. The sheriff noted firearms found at the farmhouse and said charges would be filed by County Atty Paul Doerner.

Holmes Gets One Year For Tax Evasion
Crestview resident former Okaloosa County Commissioner H H Holmes was sentenced to one year in federal prison for income tax evasion. Judge Charles Scott gave Holmes until Sept 5 to resolve affairs before starting the sentence.
