Local youth injured in bike car collision and other weekend accidents
A 13 year old, Joey Gonzales of Fort Walton Beach, sustained minor injuries after a bike collision with a car at Beachview Drive and Eggluh Parkway. James D. Davis, 23, of Niceville, drove a 1966 vehicle with about 30 dollars damage, no bicycle damage reported. No charges were filed. Patrolman Wayne Vaught investigated multiple weekend incidents including improper backing by Clyde Tucker after a truck collision with Paul M. Manseau on Gulfview Drive with 40 dollars damage to the Manseau vehicle. The collision on Highway 98 and Brooks Street was investigated by Vaught. A second crash on Eggluh Parkway near Hollywood Boulevard caused 150 dollars damage to Burson Williams Jr. and 40 dollars to Janet Matthow, with Matthow charged for careless driving. Two vehicles collided in the Kitty Kat parking lot causing 80 dollars damage to Thomas Martin and 35 dollars to Diana Moreland. No charges were filed in that incident. Cathryn Whittield is listed among survivors or involved parties with an incomplete address.

Local Man Hospitalized For Bends In Panama City
Fort Walton Beach resident Ted Hallenbeck was hospitalized in Panama City after sustaining the bends while driving at Morrison Springs. He was treated at Naval facilities for decompression. Police reported other minor crashes with damages ranging from 40 to 300 dollars and no serious injuries.

Fort Walton Beach police report a $20 counterfeit bill passed at a local shop Friday. Mrs. Bille Moore says a white man about 40, six feet tall and 160 pounds bought a straw hat for cash and left after a brief exchange. The bill was marked and sent to the U.S. Secret Service in Mobile for investigation by Lt. John Campbell.
