London Experts Urge End To Five Day Dispute

Wallace Returns Home to Warm Handshakes at Mansion

Governor George C. Wallace, wheelchairbound after a May 15 shooting, greeted about 100 visitors at the Alabama State Capitol mansion during a weekend respite from physiotherapy. He previously toured Maryland and Miami Beach, then moved to Spain Rehabilitation Center in Birmingham.

Two Arrested in Area Incidents Reported by Okaloosa Sheriff

The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Department reported two arrests and property recovery. George B. Tucker, 18, of Fort Walton Beach, was charged with buying concealing stolen property after a 1963 Harley Davidson motorcycle stolen last December was found in his possession. His bond was set at 1500 dollars. Terry Smelly Jr., 25, of Crestview, was arrested for breaking and entering and grand larceny at Thrifty Food Store on South Wilson Street after store manager Okla Morrell reported vending machine theft. Smelly posted 10 000 bond total. Deputy Burke led the investigation.

Ex Marine Foils Robbery at Montebello Tavern Killings

In Montebello California two gunmen tried a tavern stickup. Ex Marine Francis Sauer Jr wrestled away a robber’s gun and killed him, then shot another assailant who died. The second thief Michael Totatov Jr. 37 died at the scene while Tom Findlay 32 was hospitalized in critical condition.
