An 82 year old Crestview woman was struck by lightning during a violent thunderstorm while grabbing clothes from a metal line. Paralyzed yet reported in fair condition at Okaloosa Memorial Hospital, she is the mother of Constable Darrell Summer.

Head On Collision Injures Woman on SR 85

A head-on crash on the Cinco Bayou Bridge in Crestview injured a woman and wrecked two late model vehicles. Jim Greene 21 of Fort Walton Beach drove a new pickup that struck a 1970 sedan driven by George Robert Berry of Fort Walton Beach. Greene was hospitalized. Berry was uninjured and charged with failure to have his vehicle under control.

Leo Tisa, current Niceville Valparaiso Hospital administrator, named temporary director by the new hospital advisory board. Sailboats Cause Highway Crash East of Deslin

Traffic halted on Highway 98 nine miles east of Deslin after a pick-up truck and trailer loaded with sailboats collided with a car. Trooper Wilson estimated $2,600 damage to the truck and $100 to the car. The driver Eilion was charged with speeding for conditions. no injuries reported.
