Bounty Offered For Killing Police Or Firefighters
The American Federation of Police posted a cash reward of no less than 100 dollars for the arrest or fatal harm of anyone who kills a law enforcer or firefighter. The fund will pay such rewards from a special police hero fund. In Washington, the Senate voted to make Election Day a national holiday and to keep polling places open for 12 hours nationwide, but only for national races. Florida DOT said about 2 million federal dollars were earmarked for removing illegal billboards in 1972 73. The White House rejected suggestions Nixon would campaign by attacking the press, saying no such concerted effort exists.
