This edition marks the start of a new era as Playground Daily News begins printing at its own plant on 11 Eglin Parkway. The move follows 22 years of civic effort to establish a locally produced daily paper, funded by Perry Publications with support from area merchants.
A 1946 reunion photo shows the men who organized the weekly Playground Daily News in a local barroom on February 7 1946.
