County Faces Salary Freeze Amid Tax Roll Shortfall

Police Report Shows Few Arrests and Several Investigations

Police report for Monday shows two arrests an 18 year old and a 22 year old on traffic warrants. Officers investigated fire thefts a motor vehicle burglary a residential burglary and two cases of criminal mischief. The department answered 70 calls and investigated three accidents. A 1966 Chrysler driven by Gregory Medford Willoughby and a 1970 Buick driven by Marcia Lea Blackburn collided on FM 44 near 710 pr oon east of F venue.

Hicks Denies Drug Charges in Dallas Trial

Joel Hicks of Plano testified in US District Court that his overseas trips to Viet Nam Thailand and Colombia were legitimate business shopping sprees not narcotics import trips. He claimed he never bought dope and denied knowing of any drug ring while stating he faced serious personal debt and a pending pardon matter.
