Nixon Seeks Cash and Credit Moves to Expand Home Mortgages

President Nixon urged Congress to fund a broad housing program including up to 2.5 billion in forward commitments for savings and loan lenders, 3 billion for new housing, FHA to insure multifamily dwellings, and a 3 percent tax credit for investors. He favored cash subsidies as the best long term fix but left key questions about income share and welfare links unresolved.

United Way kicks off Plano campaign with faith urged
