John Clark Field Dedicated by Plano ISD
Plano Independent School District dedicates its athletic stadium as John Clark Field in honor of athletic director and former head coach John Clark. Board President Rutledge Haggard announced the name after Clark’s dedicatory address praising district sports history and future success. Clark led the Plano Wildcats from 1966 to 1975 with nine district titles and two state crowns, finishing 108 wins and 17 losses. He also coached the basketball Wildcats, reaching the 1964-65 Class AA regional finals, and is entering his second year as athletic director.
