Plano Center Aids Mentally Retarded Students in Training Center
In 1970 Plano joined Garland Richardson and Carrollton-Farmers Branch districts to form a sheltered workshop for mentally retarded youths aged 14 to 21. The cooperative training center in Garland teaches work skills, with about 30 students, including four from Plano, rotating through sewing, tissue art, and contract work. Open house is set for Sunday November 18.
