Plano and Collin County voters defeated amendments on legislative pay and tax limits while backing one on water company taxes. Turnout remained light with about eight percent of 35 000 registered voters casting ballots. Local figures blamed Watergate for the poor turnout.
Trustees cut costs on a new main maintenance facility in west Plano reducing the original bid from 70134 to 66984 by 3150 through material changes and use of local rock for parking. The board then planned a November 27 meeting to hear architects on a proposed eastern middle school and discussed an industrial task force to attract new industry to Plano.
