Higher Water and Sewer Rates Approved by Plano City Council
The City of Irving reports new water and sewer rates go into effect next month after Plano City Council approval following an April 19 public hearing. West of Central Expressway and south of Park Boulevard in Cycle 2 will see first full month under the new rates. Most increases under 15 percent, with sewer charges now based on actual use and capped at seven dollars for single family homes. Industrial sewer users pay an additional Industrial Cost Recovery charge to repay EPA grants.

Absentee Voting Open in Plano Runoff Election
Absentee voting for the June 5 Democratic Runoff is underway in Plano for voters who participated in the Democratic primary or missed May 1. Republican primary voters are ineligible. Absentee ballots are available at the County Government Center on 18th St from 8 am to 4 30 pm Friday and Tuesday. Memorial Day closes the center Monday.

Plano ISD enrollment climbs 12 percent for 1975-76
The Plano Independent School District's final 1975-76 enrollment reached 15,455, a rise of 1,835 students or 11.9 percent from last May. Fifteen seniors left early but finish May 31 after earning 63 credits.
