Plano Wildcats Rally to Win Regional Baseball Title

Over Memorial Day weekend Plano High School’s Wildcats defended the regional AAAA crown with a dramatic come-from-behind series win over Spring Branch. After an early setback in game one the team and fans rallied to sweep the Bears in two games, securing the regional title.

Weekend notes from Plano include police activity with 24 arrests, 13 burglaries and one shooting but no serious injuries. The Memorial Day observance featured Rep. Jim Collins, and the CB Radio Club hosted a long rest stop with free refreshments. Nationwide, traffic deaths neared 387 on highways since Friday, with drownings rising to 180 and a Carpentersville plane crash killing five.

Plano High Heads to Fort Worth for Baseball Quarterfinal

Plano High School travels to Clark Field in South Fort Worth for a 7 30 p m quarterfinal baseball playoff against Arlington Heights. The best of three series continues Thursday in Plano and possibly Friday back there. Arlington Heights owns a 27 5 record. Plano beat Houston Spring Branch 1 0 and 3 0 to reach this round.
