White Collar Jobs Increase Locally in Collin County

Local government figures show a shift in Collin County’s labor force toward white collar occupations. From 1960 to now the white collar share rose from 4 680 workers to an estimated 58 9 percent, while blue collar and service roles also grew. National and state comparisons show higher white collar prevalence locally.

Third Class Slated For Volunteers

The Informational and Referral Center of Plano schedules its third training session from 9 30 to 11 30 a m Thursday at the Gladys Harrington Public Library. Judge orders change of venue in Odessa teen murder case

Brownwood Texas UPI A judge ordered a venue change in the murder trial of 18 year old Gilbert Saldana from Odessa. He faces charges in the death of Curtis Nicks Jr two, and the parents Curtis and Mrs. Nicks in a traffic case tied to an auto ram during a police chase.

Three suit filed over Chevrolet engines in Oldsmobiles

Three car owners including Joseph Nolan Carriere Martha Smith and Norman Spiegelman filed a sui against General Motors seeking reimbursement for damages from Oldsmobiles that used Chevrolet engines. GM has agreed to offer credits or a special warranty for those affected. About 43,000 1977 Oldsmobile Delta 88s had the 350 CI Chevrolet V 8 engines, with 5,000 sold in Texas.
