Thefts and Burglaries Rise in Dallas Week
Police reported 33 thefts including 10 bicycles and 10 burglaries last week. One burglary was cleared by a Dallas Police arrest on unrelated charges. The suspect admitted to burglarizing Dairy Queen on 14th St Thursday night. Officers answered 365 calls, investigated 20 accidents, recovered two bicycles and one auto, and arrested 22 people for offenses including illegal entry and driving while intoxicated.

Fire Destroys Section of Producers Compress Inc in McKinney
A Monday early morning blaze at Producers Compress Inc on Throckmorton Street in East McKinney destroyed about 84 000 square feet, burning over half of a building that housed 400 bales of cotton. Fire units from Plano Princeton and Allen aided McKinney firemen who fought the fire for more than six hours and kept it from spreading. The building valued around 250 000 with 200 000 damage. investigators say the cost could be higher. Firefighters remained on site until 6 30 am, and a trash fire across the street sparked by embers was handled later that morning.
