Mrs Arch Weatherford, born Mattie Moreman, turns 95 on July 5 and remains the oldest working mother in Plano. She and her family run Weatherford Jewelry Store, continuing a family legacy begun by her husband and later his son John, with daughter Kathryn involved in the business.

Body Found Near Melissa Police Probe Murder In Collin County
The body of a teenage girl was found by two fishermen five miles west of Melissa. She wore blue pants and a striped blouse, was fully clothed, and is being examined by the Dallas County Medical Examiner. Authorities say murder is suspected and no identity is known. The probe, led by Sheriff Jerry Burton, awaits the medical report.

Plano High School sophomore Jeff House was named Treasurer of the Year at the 21st Future Unlimited Banquet by Junior Achievement. The honor includes a $100 scholarship a NAJAC travelship and a trophy. House leads UP a JA company counseled by Dr Pepper Co.
