County Offices Extend Hours For License Tags
The County Government Center in Plano and the Tax Assessor-Collector in McKinney will stay open until 8 p.m Thursday April 1 to handle last minute tag purchases. Helen Lawson says demand has forced the extra hours with tag deadline set at midnight Thursday. Regular Wednesday hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Thursday hours 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Teen robberies escalate at Plano shoplifting incident
A 17 year old Plano woman attempted to steal cigarettes at Buddies Super Market Saturday afternoon and struck an employee with keys, then was subdued by other workers. The store manager and another employee were treated for cuts at Plano General Hospital. Police also reported multiple weekend arrests for marijuana possession and various offenses, with detailed vehicle and accident reports and several other shoplifting and burglary incidents across the area.

Plano Senior High School will host the District One-Act Play Contest Thursday at 2 p.m with schools Denton Paris Lewisville Plano Turner Greenville Sherman and Denison competing. Dr Henry E Hammack of Texas Christian University will judge. Admissions are 50 cents for students and 1 for adults. Students Win Math Honors at SMU Programming Contest
In Dallas at the 1976 SMU Computer Programming Contest more than 75 students entered. Tom Loughry won the individual title and teamed with Philip Lindquist to finish third in the team event. The pair tied with St. Mark's and Samuel teams but won on top 10 time. They receive SMU summer seminars with college credit and both are National Merit finalists. Plano’s Jon Moore Jeff Crisler won door prizes and Moore placed in the top 15. Joe Brayton also represented Plano.
