Tornado demolishes Lefors in Panhandle Texas
A tornado ripped through Lefors Texas destroying the downtown and most homes in the town of about 800. One child killed and 40 to 50 injured with 200 homeless reported. Red Cross set up emergency shelter as rescues continued and weather alerts issued for wider region.

License plates for 1975 must be displayed by midnight April 1. Plano office hours are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. April 1 is the last day plates are sold there. Total tax payments this year reach $21,922.92 vs $18,214.22 last year.
