City Council and School Board hopefuls addressed voters at a Chamber of Commerce breakfast, each given five minutes to present. Only one question was asked. Louise Sherrill urged against a financial disclosure ordinance, while Phil Garcia Jr. backed the measure and called for geographic representation and a joint tax office. Sherrill touted lifelong Plano roots and stated she would continue current policies. Four Place 5 contenders, including Jack Harvard and Cecil Grattafiori Jr., pressed financial planning, conflicts on the Planning and Zoning Commission, and debt concerns as Plano’s debt nears 64 million dollars.

One Car Crash Kills Planette Robert Lyell
Robert Steven Lyell a 24 year old from 2900 Briarwood died in Richardson Wednesday night in a one car accident. He drove a 1958 MGA on Greenville near a construction barricade swerving to avoid it and hitting a light pole. Passenger Robert Flanders of Dallas was severely injured and taken to Presbyterian Hospital.

Randy Wright of 3416 Greenbriar Lane Plano is recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Foundation for significant contributions.
