City Accepts Bids for $9.69 Million in Bonds

City officials accepted bids Monday night for a total of 9.69 million dollars in bonds at record high interest rates. The 6.425 million in general obligation bonds will be sold to a consortium including First Southwest Co Republic National Bank of Dallas Merrill Lynch Kidder Peabody Hornblower Weeks-Hemphill Noyes Dean Witter Kirchner Moore Paine Webber Jackson Curtis.

Youth Nabbed For Burglary Attempt

A 14 year old boy was arrested for attempted burglary the 1300 block of Drexel Friday morning. A 20 year old woman was cut on both arms trying to scare the intruder away from her bedroom window. The youth was arrested at his home at 6 p.m. Saturday by a detective.
