Carl W. Riehn of Plano was elected president of the Texas Water Conservation Assn at its 33rd annual San Antonio meeting. Two Burned in Plano House Fire Saturday Morning
Mr and Mrs J B Sewell suffered first degree burns escaping a frame home on Custer Road after a fire started in a water heater closet. Firemen contained the blaze. 12 men and three units remained on scene.

Book Record Set At Plano Library
Gladys Harrington Public Library in Plano set a record with 1,345 books checked out, surpassing 1,184 from Jan 29. On a busy Saturday staff assisted 37 new patrons, 30 paid fines, 56 reference questions were answered, and 51 children enjoyed movies while 1501 18th St. operated 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. days.

Equipment stolen in weekend school burglary at Haggard Middle
More than $1300 in electronics disappeared from Haggard Middle School at 2401 Westside between 11 p.m. Friday and 4 40 a m Sunday. About $400 damage reported. Police also probe 10 motor vehicle burglaries mostly around Williams High School with other cases including four residential burglaries five thefts one attempted auto burglary two criminal mischiefs and two assaults. Nine people were arrested including a 13 year old runaway. Police answered 187 calls and conducted 25 vehicle inspections.
