P Z Approves Stucco Use for Nonresidential Buildings
The Planning and Zoning Commission voted 4-0 to regulate nonresidential stucco by the Uniform Building Code while keeping residential construction at 75 percent masonry in the zoning ordinance. Testimony from Jim Taylor of TP&L urged clarification as new offices could meet the building code but not masonry standards. The panel also deleted Section 12 of the zoning ordinance and scheduled a public hearing to rezone property at Avenue M and 18th Street from MF-3 to MF-1.

Weekend police tally reports string of thefts and wrecks
Police investigated 30 theft reports and 26 minor accidents over the weekend with peak days Tuesday and Friday.
