Tornado Hits Forrest City Center Killing Eight and Hauling Homes

A powerful tornado ripped through Forrest City Arkansas, killing eight people at Gibson Discount Store and injuring about 100 others. The storm destroyed 350 homes in a residential area, leaving around 2,500 homeless and causing an estimated 10 million dollars in damage. Fire officials said most victims were young shoppers, with the first identified victims including teenage girls and an elderly man.
