Runoff Elections Set for Saturday in Plano Area

Democratic candidates face two state races and two county posts with polls open 7 am to 7 pm. Voters who participated in the May Democratic Primary or who did not vote in the Republican primary may be eligible. Names include Sadler Newton for Railroad Commission and Dally Phillips for Judge of the Court of Criminal Appeals.

Youth Nabbed For Burglary

A 13 year old boy was arrested for burglarizing an auto Wednesday. Five others were arrested including two for illegal entry one for driving with license suspended one on DPS traffic warrants and one on a Plano traffic warrant. Officers investigated three motor vehicle burglaries the attempted burglary of a residence and the theft of a license plate. Police answered 61 calls for assistance four reports of criminal mischief and one accident at Hop pom intersection of Jupiter and Dallas North. The collision involved a 1969 Volkswagen driven by Stanley Vaughn Gentzler of Dallas and a 1970 Chevrolet driven by Mary Kirby Bernard of 3516 Shorecrest.

Plano group ships to Bolivia for monthlong work camp

Twenty three youths and ten adults from Plano's First United Methodist Church travel to Cochabamba Bolivia to construct a church for jungle missionaries. The group pays 200 per person for food while the 20 000 plus raised by the congregation and a donation from Olton Texas fund plane fare and other costs.

Levi weighs three school systems for possible busing challenge
