Police logged sixty six calls on Tuesday, reporting two gasoline thefts, one bicycle theft, one vehicle burglary and one residence burglary. Crime Lab Van Goes On Duty For Collin County Task Force
The Collin County Sheriff's Dept. mobile crime lab begins operation as part of the Major Crime Task Force. Police from Plano McKinney Allen and the Sheriff's Dept. staff the unit, funded by state and federal grants. The van handles all phases of investigation with 28 kits 3800 watt power and floodlights. Glenn Tilley, a McKinney native and Institute of Applied Science graduate, is the full time technician. The task force has a high clearance rate and serves surrounding counties, with 24 hour on call access to all Collin County departments. Citizens are invited to inspect the van in McKinney.
