Auto Crash Victim Dies In Hospital
Arthur Matthew Harris of Richardson died from injuries after a plane crash on June 5. Police said he died Friday in a area hospital. The accident happened at 4 35 p m on Coit Road four miles north of FM 544. His 1972 Chevrolet left the road, flipped and struck a utility pole. No other vehicle was involved.

Montessori School Seeks New Location in Plano
The Montesorri school, three years at University of Plano, seeks new quarters after building and land were sold at auction. Water service is cut off due to a university debt, electricity will be shut off, and the school hopes to rent space from a church for weekday use. The 23 to 30 students, ages two to first grade, attend weekday sessions from 9 to noon, with contact numbers provided.

Escapees Recaptured After Third Floor Jail Escape
Kenneth Crawford and David Lee Moncier, the first escapees under Sheriff Jerry Burton, crawled through a third floor window at Collins County Jail. They pried bars with a table leg and a bicycle chain but were recaptured after an afternoon head count. Crawford surrendered around 11:30 p.m. and Moncier was captured near Lowery Crossing around 7 a.m.

Crash Injures Three Persons at FM 544 Preston Rd Intersection
A noontime collision at FM 544 and Preston Rd left two men seriously injured and a third with minor injuries. Victims Bobby Glenn Talley and Scott Cates of Frisco sustained major injuries in a crash involving Talley’s 1974 Chevrolet and a 1973 Mercury driven by Sharon Maria Brown of Dallas, who had minor injuries. All were transported to Plano General Hospital. Police also investigated two burglaries and answered 54 calls for assistance, with four arrests including two juveniles and two adults for offenses such as shoplifting and driving while intoxicated.
