Plano ISD May Seek 11 Cent Tax Increase

Plano Woman Out on Bond in Major Drug Case
Janet Earl Hicks of Plano is free on 50 000 dollar bond posted by ABC Bonding Co. of Dallas in a Fort Worth drug trafficking case. Hicks and her husband Joe D. are among 15 defendants named in sealed federal indictments accusing participation in a large Southwest drug ring involving heroin and cocaine from Bangkok Thailand and Bogota Colombia during 34 months starting June 1973. Additional arrests include Coleman Ray Bandy Argyle Kammell Kouri and Charles Lige Bolts Dallas with bonds up to 250 000 and 100 000. John Lewis Walls released after Bennie McKnight posted 10 000 cash bond. McKnight released on 100 000 bond. Joe Hicks holds the highest bond 500 000 cash only and faces possible bond reduction. In separate case Shirley Thrash Norman was sentenced to 50 years for selling heroin at Dallas North Airport. earlier Emil Albert Norman Domingo Ortega Reyes were sentenced to life in prison.
