Murphy Seeks Citywide Sewer Plan With NTMWD Contract

Murphy city council unanimously backed a Sewer Study Committee draft to contract sewer services with the North Texas Municipal Water District. A survey of 224 residents shows 174 favor citywide sewer, 15 unsure, and 9 favor Skyline Addition only, with 5 preferring modified citywide. The panel urged citywide access and the council asked NTMWD to present a contract promptly. Also approved were the 1974 audit, a stalled security system, increased garbage pickups to twice weekly starting Feb 1 with a $1 rise, and paving bids for city hall lot and initial street repairs totaling about $2,500 to $1,334 for Martin Trucking Co.
