Don Griffin announced at the Vines High School banquet that the Plano YMCA sustaining campaign has raised 15 225 in pledges with 11 455 in cash. Over 100 workers attended as Griffin polled the ten divisions about the drive.

Collin County commissioners approved a three member committee of the district judge county judge and county court at law judge to decide courthouse closings during icy weather and to notify radio and TV stations. They also approved a $18731.44 utility adjustment with North Farmersville Water Supply Corp on Highway 78. Holiday closings for 1977 were set with Mondays Fridays or weekends common. A bond for Gates Steen delinquent tax attorney was approved and minutes from the prior meeting were approved. The court adjourned into executive session to consider appointments to Collin Memorial Hospital and postponed them to next week.

Plane Home Damaged By Kitchen Fire
A Saturday night kitchen fire caused considerable damage to the John Nicolaisen home at 2613 Charter Oaks with smoke and heat damage throughout. Fire Marshal Bill Threet said firefighters contained the blaze to the kitchen after five units and 16 men worked from 8:12 to 8:28 p.m. No dollar loss estimate was provided and the cause remains undetermined.
