The Plano YMCA launches its 1975 Sustaining Campaign at 7 30 p m Tuesday in the Wilson Junior High Cafeteria. Meals by Dickeys Barbecue. tickets 3 dollars per person. Campaign chairman Joe Mashburn urges all workers to attend and pick up packets at the banquet. Executive director Bill Botts highlights a mix of fun and serious elements for volunteers. Judge Brown resigns from 59th District Court effective January

Judge David Brown of the 59th Judicial District Court resigns effective January 31 after submitting papers to Governor Dolph Briscoe. McKinney and Austin sources say he urged appointment of a Sherman attorney. no reason was given. Brown could not be reached for comment. The 59th District covers Collin and Grayson Counties with court sessions in McKinney and Sherman.

The Plano League for Environmental Action will not accept Plano newspapers at Fire Station No. 2 on FM 544, continuing a moratorium as the market for recycled paper remains nonexistent due to a weak construction industry and broader economic issues in Dallas.
