Small Blazes Reported In City and Around Town
Two fire calls were logged by the Plane Fire Dept on Wednesday. A storage building at 1605 H Ave. re afire at 5 54 p.m. and a grass fire near a Wells Brothers Feed and Grain barn at 1 59 p.m. Investigations included a gas leak a smoke report and an electrical short. Two ambulance runs were also reported.

Plano Police Log Reports Four Minor Accidents
Police records show four traffic accidents on Tuesday with one injury. Starr Exler of Plano was injured in a two car crash on West 15th Street involving a Toyota and a MGB driven by Kent Cates. Two other crashes occurred on Highway 75 and on Dallas North Parkway involving a Chrysler and a Pontiac station wagon.

In Laredo locals Arturo Rodriguez and nephew Ricardo report a giant grey bird near the Rio Grande with a 15 to 20 foot wingspan, five foot body, seen from the river road. Roberto Gonzalez also spotted it, about 60 feet high over US 22. Others in Donna and San Benito report sightings and a TV photo shows three toed prints.
