Zoning amendments approved and annexation sought in Plano council
City council okayed two zoning amendments increasing side yard distances for commercial bordering residential districts and corner lots. They also allowed carports within three feet of rear property lines if an alley exists, with definitions and material restrictions sent back to the Planning and Zoning Commission. Annexation of 181 219 acres for the Albritton tract park was approved. Proposals for a local service cab company to replace exclusive franchises were heard, with plan for Wildcat Cabs to serve city needs.

Newest High School Comes Under Budget in Plano
R C Clark High School in Plano ISD will be built by Goodberry Construction Company for 5.6165 million under the 5.8 million budget. The 180000 sq ft 9-10 grade facility near Spring Creek Parkway and Alma Drive will open for the 1979 80 school year.

Overpass Opens on Parker Road with New Ramps
Traffic rerouted to the Parker Road Overpass this afternoon allowing use of new ramps. James Huffman of the Texas Department of Highways and Public Transportation notes the old structure will be torn out on Thursday. US 75 portions will close during work and reopen after 4 p.m. daily.

Dancers Learn Body Awareness Through Pilot High School Class
At Plano Senior High School 24 students, 12 boys and 12 girls, train under theatre instructor John Steele in a unique body awareness dance program. The pilot, part of Kaleidoscope 78, runs Feb 9–11 with nine numbers and a vaudeville finale.
