Grand Jury No Bills Wife In Shooting
Patricia Houghton was no billed by the Collin County grand jury in connection with the Oct. 17 shooting death of her husband Hugh Dwight Houghton 30. He was shot in their Plano home at 1816 Mercedes Place after an apparent struggle over a gun in the bedroom.

Fire damages Fox & Jacobs trailer and other fires reported
A 45 foot Fox and Jacobs construction trailer on Chinaberry Trail was fully involved when firefighters arrived at 5:54 p.m. The trailer, used to store paint and tools, contained an estimated $4,000 to $5,000 in contents. A heater likely started the blaze, and the trailer was empty. Firefighters also doused a garbage truck fire started by ashes and reported eight grass fires in nearby areas throughout Thursday.

Voters Should Now Possess Certificates
County Clerk James Webb urges Plano voters who have not received their new voter's certificates to contact his McKinney office. About 50,000 certificates were mailed countywide in the last two weeks. The new cards reflect voting box changes effective January 1. Those with erroneous or misaddressed cards or who are no longer living should also contact the clerk's office.

East Plano Chosen For DHA Housing
The Dallas Housing Authority selects 13 sites in or near Dallas suburbs for subsidized housing. East Plano is identified for additional low income units, with plans also in Richardson Garland Forney Farmers Branch Mesquite and Duncanville. DHA has a 6 million HUD grant to buy up to 440 apartments pending cooperative agreements. A 144 unit project is planned for northeast Plano at Avenue N and Park Boulevard initiated by HUD.
