Sheriff George Smith will not resign as Collin County surrenders on funding

Assailant Posts Bond In Plano High School Stabbing

Nicky Taylor 17 remained in satisfactory condition at Presbyterian Hospital after surgery for a knife blade removed from his back following a stabbing at Plano High School during a fight Aug. 24. The assailant, a 16-year-old PHS student, was released to parents on 5000 bond as a court review set for Sept. 20 to decide adult certification and possible charges.

Plano Public Hearing To Consider General Telephone Rate Rise

Plano City Council reconvenes Friday at 4 p.m. in City Hall to review a requested rate increase from General Telephone Co. The session follows last March’s hearing at Plano High School and an executive session with lawyers. The council plans a counterproposal, possibly a major shift in strategy, as it seeks investment details from the company.
